Naturopathy
At Kismet Health, we provide naturopathic and nutrition consultations, individualised to your specific needs, through a holistic and evidence-based approach to wellness. Naturopathic principles are based on treating each person as an individual and treating the whole person, not just the affected area or presenting symptoms.
Herbal medicine has been used for many years. Drawing on both traditional knowledge and modern scientific research of herbs, herbal medicine is used to help adjust the body and mind back to a state of balance. Herbs can be used for acute illnesses, such as coughs or colds, as well as for chronic states such as stress or autoimmune conditions.
Nutritional medicine is the assessment and modification of dietary habits, nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. Our practitioners develop individual food and nutrition plans while also providing ongoing education and support regarding food choices and changes so you can reach and maintain your wellbeing goals.
Lifestyle advice is given in all appointments to promote wellbeing, reduce stress and help you move towards your health goals.
Flower essence therapy addresses the emotional and spiritual levels. Healing is a multi-level process that encompasses the whole person and includes the physical body, the emotions, mental outlook, attitudes and spiritual understanding.

Consultation Process
INITIAL CONSULTATION
The initial consultation is structured to gain an understanding of your health complaints in as much detail as possible. We focus on your primary health concerns while identifying underlying causes. A typical consultation involves a series of questions about past and present health complaints, discussion regarding initial treatment recommendations and the development of your treatment plan. We believe in setting goals and breaking them down into achievable and realistic steps. At this stage, clients are referred for assessments to be conducted before the second appointment, as needed.
Appointment duration: one hour
EXTENDED RETURN CONSULTATION
The second stage of the process is where we focus on treating the underlying cause of your condition. While your symptoms may be starting to improve, the objective is to ensure we can treat the cause of your symptoms. During this appointment (typically held between one to three weeks after the initial appointment), we will undertake physical examinations, review any assessments or testing in detail and fine-tune your treatment plan. We will also review reports and questionnaires provided in the first consultation and create your wellness wheel. This session is where treatment truly begins, and you commence taking your first steps towards long-term health and wellbeing.
Appointment duration: one hour
RETURN APPOINTMENTS
From this point, your follow-up appointments are entirely individual and based on your presenting health complaint and its duration, together with any identified roadblocks to health. Usually we see patients more regularly in the initial stages followed by monthly appointments until your health has stabilised. Follow-up appointments are made on an as-needs basis to ensure long-term health and wellbeing. In some cases, a review of blood tests and treatment plans will be conducted within three to six
months.
Appointment duration: 40 minutes
PATHOLOGY TESTING
Sometimes it is appropriate to obtain further information before a treatment plan can be recommended. If we feel further testing might be required, we will discuss this with you and provide your options together with the appropriate information to enable you to make an informed choice. Please see more about the testing options we offer clients here.
TREATMENT RESULTS
Treatment outcomes will vary depending on the individual and their presenting health complaint. Some individuals achieve quick results while others may take several months or longer to see a result. As a rule, the longer you have been experiencing your complaint, the longer you will require treatment. It is important to remember that a natural healing process takes time. We are not trying to simply alleviate your symptoms; our primary aim is to improve your long-term health and prevent illness.
